CamSemi controller targets low cost networking adaptors
In a bid to expand its share of the networking products power supply market, CamSemi has released a primary side sending (PSS) flyback controller it says has a unique constant power (CP) mode.
The C2283 is designed to offer fast load pull up of products with high input capacitance, such as modems and other networking devices. It is also said to be suitable for set top boxes and high volume, energy efficient universal input adapter applications rated above 8W.
"CamSemi's C2470 RDFC family was introduced to offer an exceptionally low cost approach in linear replacement applications, whereas C2283 is cost optimised for voltage regulated supplies," said CamSemi ceo David Baillie. "Our patented PSS controller architecture has been further developed in C2283 to boost light load efficiency, improve performance and integrate a novel constant power mode to improve system level costs."
The company says the new controller will allow designers to 'right size' their networking adaptor solutions for the first time without having to add extra or higher rated components.
