Controllers save energy
CamSemi has launched a family of primary side sensing (PSS) controllers that allow manufacturers of high volume consumer devices to cut no load consumption in normal mode to less than 30mW for chargers up to 8W.
The C2160 family enables start up times of less than 0.3s to help reduce test costs for manufacturers and to ensure that handsets start charging from the moment they are plugged in.
"The controllers will further strengthen our position in the mobile phone market and help manufacturers of high end chargers to meet the industry's most demanding energy saving specifications but without adding cost, components or having to compromise performance," said CamSemi ceo David Baillie (pictured).
