Converters cut power consumption by 30%
Targeting critical high density systems like medical imaging and wireless communications applications, Texas Instruments’ new family of 10 and 12bit octal a/d converters are claimed to draw 30% less power than competing solutions.
The ADS5281 family features high resolution and sampling speeds of up to 65Msample/s, low noise performance and advanced digital features which are critical in sensitive imaging applications like portable ultrasound and MRI equipment.
“The ADS5281 family of pipeline a/d converters offer best in class low power consumption and high integration to meet demanding high performance applications such as medical imaging and communications infrastructures,” said TI’s business development manager, EMEA, Christoph Gromann. “Our challenge has been to maintain the high performances that our customers have come to expect whilst significantly reducing power consumption.”
