CSR collaborating with TSMC on 90nm embedded Flash process
Cambridge based CSR is teaming up with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) to develop a series of next generation wireless solutions. TSMC says the collaboration with the UK audio and connectivity specialist will enable it to expand its presence in the European integrated circuit market.
Under the agreement, TSMC will supply CSR with its 90nm embedded Flash manufacturing technology, silicon IP and rf cmos processes. CSR has validated a range of proprietary connectivity IP blocks based on the new process technology and IP, and incorporated them into its next generation CSR8600 consumer wireless audio platform.
The process technology and IP allow wireless chips to deliver at a speed twice that of chips using 0.18micron process technology and IP, making them suitable for portable communications, smartcard and microcontroller applications.
