TDK-Lambda unveils new power supplies at Mtec 2011
Power supply manufacturer TDK-Lambda UK is set to launch several new power supplies at this year's Mtec Exhibition in a bid to address the medical, industrial, broadcast, telecoms, test and measurement and factory automation markets.
Among the power supplies being showcased is the GWS series of 'green' power supplies, which the company claims has a no load input power consumption that remains below 0.5W to comply with the energy saving requirements of Energy Star and the ErP directive.
Rated at 250W, the GWS250 ac to dc power supply is offered in four models with nominal output 12, 24, 36 and 48V. With a compact footprint and 1U height, the convection cooled product is designed to fit into space previously requiring fan cooled products.
According to TDK-Lambda, it is well suited for applications requiring low audible noise levels or in equipment where long life is a critical design factor. Its efficiency curve averages 93% from 25 to 100% load to ensure optimum operation under all load conditions.
