External power supplies achieve 92% efficiency
XP Power has launched a new series of external ac/dc power supplies, aimed at a range of medical and IT applications.
The AHM series comprises five single output ranges of 85, 100, 150, 180 or 250W output and is designed to provide the nominal outputs from 12 to 48Vdc. All units are convection cooled to remove the need for any internal forced air flow. This is to make the units more reliable, but still maintain their quiet operation.
The units are Energy Efficiency Level V rated and achieve a typical efficiency of 92%. According to the company, they meet the stringent requirements of global energy efficiency standards both in terms of average power efficiency and less than 0.5W no load power consumption. The series is also compliant with standards such as EISA2007, CEC2008 and the European ErP Directive.
Available now from Farnell or direct from XP Power, all units come with a three year warranty.
